Eksi Krema – Sour Cream

Istanbul does not offer many stores which sell Sour Cream, so the easiest way is to just make it yourself. Use a couple of spoons of Suzme Yoghurt (or Greek Yoghurt), add a few spoons of Krema (full fat cream), juice of half a lemon, zeste of one lemon and sea salt. Whip it, et voila, sour cream is made, leave it in the fridge for up to 5 days, the longer you leave it, the more delicious it becomes.

Mango Chili Saus

Chop up red & green chillis, onion, garlic and diced mango and heat it all up in some olive oil, add salt and a few tea spoons of sugar, add mango juice or pineapple juice and a splash of vinegar, let it simmer for 30 minutes on a low heat. The sauce should become soft & syropy. Cover the pan (or the spice from the chili will make you cough!). Take off the heat and let it cool down. Blend the sauce in a blender and use a sterilised jar to store your sauce in the fridge.
